What if you owned a bag that paired perfectly with everything you ever wore? I’m talking swanky date with your spouse, grocery store runs in your leggings, sports games with your kiddos, or a weekend show with your friends. One bag, all day, everyday. And it just works.
Let’s back up a little. You see, I thought I found this jack-of-all-trades bag a few years back. It was made of Italian leather, thrifted from one of my favorite Seattle secondhand shops. Cross body bag, a deep cognac leather, about the size of a good book, with a soft navy lining. It was my perfect bag. In fact, it was my only bag for about three years. I don’t carry a lot with me (my Equal Uprise Wallet, cell, some chap stick, my choice of lipstick for the day, keys, mints… the basics). A simple purse kept me content.
Until a few months ago. I finally realized how often I used my well-worn, beloved cross body purse. I reflected on how many upscale events I’d felt a bit underdressed at, simply because my current purse did not seamlessly transition from day to night. When you find yourself in the rut of using the same purse everyday for three years, finding a new bag that meets your versatility criteria seems daunting. But, as luck would have it, my new one-purse-fits-all happened to find me.
After Nick worked on a men’s accessory post for ENAT, they kindly requested a follow-up partnership. This time around was for the ladies and you can bet I was more than ready to try out another option from their website! Good golly: just take a look at their collection and you’ll understand my dilemma. Every bag is ethically crafted in Ethiopia, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully worn. Okay, okay: choose one. I had to be smart.
No need for a drum roll or to bore you with a long list of reasons that led to my choice: I eagerly selected ENAT‘s Cross Body Bag in black and have not stopped wearing it since it arrived (except for showering, and cooking, and crawling into bed, of course). This is your new go-to bag, people. I wear it for any and all occasions: it’s beautiful! Fewer Better never rang so true.
Want to hear a secret about my ENAT Cross Body Bag? It’s absolutely imperfect. No, you didn’t just uncover a typo (thankfully Nick is my personal editor). You heard me right. My purse is imperfect. Have you ever wondered what happens to products with imperfections that can’t be sold as an original? You know, the small dings or scratches that come about during the manufacturing process. Or perhaps a buckle or strap was off center. What happens to these pieces? In the fast fashion world, they are cheerfully discarded. Imperfect? Unwanted. Goodbye! This also happens in ethical fashion, understandably. Consumers expect quality; yet when there’s no margin for error, what’s the plan? What becomes of the misfits?
Being the innovators they are, ENAT‘s founders, Eliza and Olivia, had a better plan for these well-loved goods. Welcome to the world of the Oddball Collection: ENAT’s perfectly imperfect purses, bags, backpacks, and wallets. They may have a few bumps, scuffs, or a dot here and there, but I can tell you from a firsthand look, they are just as good as the original images you see online. Better yet, they come with a smaller price tag. One of ENAT’s biggest values is to remain sustainable. How? Stop producing waste. Use all of the material and product you have, imperfections and all.
By selling every single bag, no matter how imperfect, ENAT is crafting a new culture even within the sustainable style arena. If you’ve been secretly hoping to invest in a quality leather bag, but budget has kept you from a purchase, ENAT’s new Oddball Collection may be the perfect fit for your style + your wallet.
ENAT’s Oddball Collection will be for sale exclusively on their website starting Sunday (November 26th) through the following Wednesday (November 29th). A purse for any and all occasions? Absolutely! Cheers to ethically-made goods that take you from Monday morning meetings through Saturday night soirées!
Note: Thank you, ENAT, for gifting us the Oddball Cross Body Bag to review for this post. For the sake of transparency, we were not compensated for this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own!
