Howdy! Hey! Phew!
About a week and half ago, we ventured out to visit my parents in their new home state of Montana. Long story short, they left the city and corporate life to pursue a new season that brought them joy. They currently work for an outdoor + adventure leadership training camp (Camp Bighorn) nestled in the Lolo National Forest. Picking up, packing up, and moving to a completely different space and vocation at age 60 takes courage. To say the least, I’m deeply proud of my parents.
Montana was just breathtaking! Wide open spaces. Rolling green hills. Snow dusted mountains. Counting deer along the road. Genuine, kind people. Sincere hospitality. Family owned shops. We explored the National Bison Range. Took a day trip to Thompson Falls. Sipped on a hemp vanilla latte and gobbled down vegan donuts from Zootown Brew. We shopped and bopped around Missoula. I even discovered The Green Light, a curated shop packed with some of my favorite ethical brands! After all our travels these past two months, this road trip felt refreshing. Montana, I sure like you.
The drive took about 8 hours from Seattle, so to keep us awake, Nick put together a little road trip playlist. Get it? Places & Playlists? We have several other adventures planned for summer, so I’m hoping this series becomes a regular appearance around here. Alright, the truth is that my hubs actually made three playlists (America The Kid, Hallow Biscuits, and 99), of which I chose my most favorite tunes to blend into the ultimate playlist to share with you. So, grab some coffee, click play, and scroll for a little snippet of our adventure!
(Don’t worry, all of these antlers fell off naturally!)
Until next time, Montana!
