Blouse & Jeans: UXC Tacoma | Shoes: Secondhand gift from my MIL 🙂
Happy Sunday, everyone! Spring is in the air and though Seattle is clearly not aware (hello rain and gloomy clouds), my love of florals is blooming anyway. Secondhand shopping has got to be one of my most favorite ways to purchase clothing. First off, thrifting is an incredibly ethical way to shop. Landfills full of unwanted garments ain’t such a beautiful thing. Re-wearing someone else’s trash as your treasure is a phenomenal way to spice up your unique style and be kind to the environment. #reducereuserecycle
With warmer weather just around the corner, Nick and I both snagged some fun and funky pieces from Urban Exchange Tacoma. Sifting through racks of vintage and gently used clothing, waiting to spot that print or color that fits my jam is definitely a beloved activity of mine. Thankfully, I’m a much pickier thrifter these days. Shopping can be #addictive, so you just need to know when to say no. I’m thinking about making Secondhand Sundays a regular thing around here to share some of my favorite thrifted finds I currently own, so keep your eyes peeled!
If you’ve been hesitant to shop more ethically because of budget, I can say from experience that it’s totally doable. Everyone’s budget is different, but I found what works best for me is to balance shopping secondhand, while budgeting for for the pricier, ethically made wishlist items (read more here!) Cheers to spring and breaking out those bolder, one-of-a-kind, funky, fun pieces!
