Growing up in the Northwest was picturesque. Luscious green forests, dew covered foliage, deer in your backyard. Another perk of living in Washington state for most of my life is the incredible hiking just outside of Seattle. Rattlesnake Ridge, Mount Si, Mirror Lake, Mount Rainier National Park, “Poo Poo Point” (as the locals call this particular trek), Cougar Mountain… the list never seems to end. As a child, I adored hiking with my family and still find comfort + nostalgia in a long trek through the mountains.
This past summer, my husband and I made our way to Seoraksan National Park, about a three hour bus ride from Seoul in the beautiful beach town of Seocho. The drive in left us gasping at the breathtaking mountain peaks and ocean views. Though it rained the day we hiked Mount Seorak, our experience remained incredible. I highly recommend making the journey to explore this National Park if you ever find yourself in South Korea (your welcome for your new excuse to visit Seoul!)
I love packing a backpack stocked with water and goodies for our hiking adventures. I came across LARABAR a while back and was delightfully surprised to discover they are not only Fairtrade Certified, organic, and gluten free, but also GOSH DARN DELICIOUS. We are currently in love with the peanut butter chocolate chip flavor. You might as well have them for breakfast, a snack, and dessert. Say hello to some scrumptious, ethical snacking!
